What's your favorite genre that originated in America. As many of you know, Classical music is my favorite genre, but the giant composers (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Lizt Chopin, etc.) were European. What's your favorite genre that originates in America?

Mine is probably Jazz.

I'd be lying if I said it was anything other than good old rock n' roll. Other than that, though, I effing love a lot of American folk music.

I'd say rock was invented by Americans, then perfected by the Brits.

But of our music that we invented and still do best, gotta go with the Blues.
