Which's the best series for death metal in ESP and Schechter?

I think a good death metal tone comes from having a badass amp (High-end Randall, Framus, Engl, Peavey, Mesa/Boogie, VHT, Krank, you get the point) than what guitar you use. I'm sure any ESP or Schecter with hot pickups and at least a humbucker in the bridge will get you a death metal tone.

That said, I'd check out any the M, MH, MHNT, EX, FX, F, or Viper series' from ESP. I'm sure the AX series would do fine as well. Just make sure it's got either active EMG's, or Duncans for pickups. Beware ESP's stock pickups.

As for Schecter, I'd check out the Hellraiser, Omen, or Damien series guitars. Maybe check out some from the C series too. Just remember, beware of stock pickups and try for a guitar with at least active EMG's or Duncans/DiMarzio's.

For further clarification, the most popular EMG's are the 81, 85, and 60 for metal. Duncan Designed does NOT mean they're Seymour Duncans. Make sure they're ACTIVE EMG's, Seymour Duncans, or DiMarzio's. I'm sure any of the above guitars would work splendid for metal, just make sure to watch for good pickups and get a good, high gain amp.
Washburn HM Idol w/ SD JB in bridge > Ibanez Weeping Demon > Korg Pitchblack > Digitech Bad Monkey > Boss NS-2 > Boss DD-6 > Egnater Renegade > Splawn 2x12 w/ Weber Sig12Bs

It's mostly personal preference, really. You'd have to try a few from each company and see which you liked best.

Maybe this or this from Schecter, and this (though it has active EMGs - not sure if you want those or not) or this from ESP should be the sort of things you're looking at? Unless you need a trem, of cousre...then all of the things I've suggested are pretty pointless

Putting guitars into genres is stupid, if you like how it plays, play it. Don't use it cause it looks "metal".
These go to eleven...

Any guitar can be a metal guitar, even hollowbodies and acoustics to a degree. Go to a guitar shop, play the guitars. As many as you can find. Find one that you like a lot, and buy it.

When I say offensive I mean offensive like dressing up as superman in a wheel chair offensive, not penis suit offensive.

What amp do you have?

You could play death metal with a pink Hello Kitty strat if you had the right amp.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

I'd say check out the new Ibanez Xiphos. it's priced right around the $600 range and definately a death metal guitar. (if by death metal you mean Death, Obituary, etc. and not the new **** people cal ldeath metal) stick a dimarzio X2N pickup in the bridge and something like the D Activator in the neck and you have THE death metal guitar. if you're bent on getting a schecter or an ESP then i recommend the C1 Hellraiser or *sigh* the "she devil". But i seriously recommend the Xiphos. that is one BAD ASS guitar.

If you want to save some cash, here's a really good Guitar with real EMGs for $350.

Schecter Hellraiser might aid in sounding very metal...But an amp will really make any guitar sound right for death metal. You've just gotta know how to set the distortion on the amp. If your amp doesn't have that many settings, then get an amp modeler or distortion pedals.
Kattttt.
