I'm thinking of getting a Laney Lionheart. Do you think having a global EQ for the clean and drive channel is going to suck? I just bought a TC G-Major and that has a 3 band EQ on it so I might be able to tweak it with that.

You can always use an EQ pedal (or keep the amps settings flat and use 2 EQ pedals ).

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.
