I believe the bodywood on the rg3ex is ash.

I like it, it was an impulsive purchase and im sure glad it was. It comes w/ 10gauge string and i can turn to Drop C w/ no fret buzz but the strings are too loose. I am considering selling it to buy an acoustic tho.
