When it comes to looking for these guitars, i know i want one that came factory equipped, no do it yourself routing jobs when im paying upwards of 500 bucks. What should i look for when looking into these? I really really like the Fender HM, but those are damn-rare. I know the Fender Japan guitars sometimes came with floyd roses/kahlers. Were there any mexicans/americans that are relatively inexpensive and still give some good quality?

Hmm, http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-Standard-FR-Stratocaster-Electric-Guitar?sku=517910

^Not sure where that one is made, but judging by the price I'd say Mexico/Japan. For sure not American.

If you're serious about a floating trem I'd myself buy an original Ibanez Edge and fit it into the Strat; but since you're not into that I'd go with the one I linked. It has a humbucker in the bridge so you could get some hotter leads on it too.

EDIT: I personally don't like the neck on that Strat, so I'd probably switch it out, but to each his own.

Those DiMarzio pups on your RG are great.
