EMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nothing can surpass the 81/85 combo

NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lolz but seriously they'r pretty damn decent.....................
#3
EMG 81/85= GODLY
Awesome cleans and awesome with distortion. Many people think that these are the best combo and i would have to agree.
#4
i was so ready to suggest handwound pickups... they're too worthy for those genres.

go for EMGs. it should cover ur genre preference very well.

Horrible cleans...don't fool yourself.

High output DiMarzio's. X2N/Air Norton. Evolutions.

Hey guys! I just started playing electric guitar should I get a Gabson Lay Pall or a Femdor Startokaster. I like the picks on the gabsons but i like how sweet femdors look. Beforre i get a gabson what company makes them?
#6
damn those are expensive is there anything cheaper i can get like around 50-60 bucks a piece that will work. and if i were to only get one pickup whats a pickup that will be good by itself

so just get 2 of those and put one in the neck and one in the bridge. i see there is a specific order for the neck pickup but not for a bridge pickup. do i just order 2 of the neck ones or what

EMG's are good, but no where near godly, buddy. and an emg 81 or 85 will NOT give you any good cleans, i know from experience. not to mention the 81 can sound really sterile and artificial, but they are still decent pickups.

i would go for dimarzion evolution/air norton. or an x2n/ air norton. or if you want the sound of an active i hear good things about the D activators but have never tried them

Eh, I don't know, I'd stay away from the power rails. Maybe get a Vintage '59 in the neck, and a Fat PAF in the bridge.

does anyone know how the powered by lace pickups at guitar center are? heres the link if you want to look at them

they're good quality. they're good modern pickups. (even though they advertise as "vintage")

if u think that's necessary. i can't assure that they have good switches. but the pots are alpha, and they're superior. but at the same time, u can get'em cheaper somewhere else.
