go for it. there good amps. shippings a bitch from malaysia though. why no orange? im just curious
#3
Little more then I want to spend really, and I would just rather stick with the JCM it nails all the stuff that I play.
#4
get an assembled one for $600ish? one without tubes. u might be able to get an OT too. but if u don't have experience making amps, get the preassembled ones.

yea the 2204 version. u don't need a monster with 4 power tubes. lol. package 3 $595. get it. and get tubes from tube depot!!!

Yeah the 2203 looks like a better choice, Would probably get the tubes separate.
#7
The amps are great! I know someone with the Trainwreck Liverpool Clone and it sounds unbelievable! I am ordering one soon. They include good tubes when you order them prebuilt, the guy I know's amp came with JJs

If you got a premade one, how would I get the cover for the head? And also how much are they usually?

^u might be able to get Ted Weber to make you a cover (enclosure) for the head.

ion ohow much.

and somebody said 2203 is a better buy than a 2204...
i think 2203 would be louder than enough. Kerry sets his 18watter's master volume at 1.5

i have a ceriatone 50 watt plexi and it's amazing.
get the complete amp but keep in mind there is no cover for it.
nik will make you a cover for $150 which i am pretty sure is cheaper than anywhere in the US
but it does make shipping more
shipping for my plexi was 150
so all together is was just under 1000
BTW get nik to put the tubes in it for you so you can just go at it when it comes in the mail
you don't have to go get the tubes biases and whatnot
if you have any other questions just ask me
#15
so guitaristd

do you need the cover?
seems like not having one would save a lot of money

marshall mg100dfx some people slay but i love it, think its a good amp for the money and you cant go wrong with marshall...its english!
#16
unless you plan on never leaving your room (or moving the amp)
than you don't need the cover
but if you gig or anythign that requires you to move your gear
get the cover
he makes really really good covers
#17
could i make a cover myself?
its just for protection right?

i want either the marhsall 18 or 36 watt or the jcm 800

i guess but i would just let nik make you one
if you want to cover yours with tolex than it's gonna be more trouble than it's worth
#21
I really want one of these now, but I have no idea which ones to go for....the Marshalls seem good, but someone recommended the trainwreck as well.

Basically I like the nice mild overdriven cleans and warm tones.
Very much like Jimmy's LP tone on this song, if you want an idea.

But on the other side I like pure cleans on like a strat. Something like Pink Floyd's SOYCD if you listen to the guitar intro...have yet to find an amp that can do both.

Still at a loss as to which voicing I like, whether American or British, nothing like that Brit crunch and OD.

That's why tweed Fenders are so great, they combine the best of both.

I'd get a cover or make one for sure. There are LETHAL voltages present in tube amps (capacitors) that remain long after the amp is turned off & unplugged from the wall socket. Be careful handling an amp chassis out of its housing!!
