how hard would it be to replace a regular fixed bridge with a floating tremolo bridge with locking nut. i found where i can buy it but the guitar i wanted to get that has it is $350 and if its cheaper to just get it installed i will. so would it be too hard? i know its not just a simple swap out is it? also how hard is it installing a locking nut?

Unless you or someone you know has and is good with a router it's going to be cheaper to buy a guitar that already has one. As for the locking nut, you have to cut the fret board.

It's not going to be significantly cheaper than buying a guitar with a Floyd - however most floating bridges on sub $500 guitars are pretty flaky.
