I'm really new at guitar and I wanna get an electric. I almost decided on an epiphone sg g-400 but I have no idea how to find a good amp and stuff. I might get a Zoom G.1u Guitar affects pedal with USB so I guess the amp would have to be able to use that.

So basically what amp should i get?

Please be patient with me

EDIT: ..and if this isn't the right part of the forums i guess move me somehwere (mods)

zoom basically just have crap effects, I only like mine for 2 weeks then I realised how rubbish it was
and I need to know what you're willing to spend within a range.

if you live in america and have over $200 to spend on an amp get a 5 watt crate palomino and a digitech bad monkey pedal

Epiphone G-400 SG

$299
P.S. you can't get it in Metallic Black

Crate Palomino V8

$199

Bad Monkey Overdrive
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/DigiTech-Bad-Monkey-Tube-Overdrive-Pedal?sku=150831

$49.95

That's a rig that'll last you for years, unlike the crappy marshall MG's, Fender Frontmans etc. that everyone else is buying.

$547.95 altogether, is that within your budget?

EDIT: of course you'll probably want to buy straps, picks etc. so go to the guitar shop near you for them
