So my friend was talking about his TS-808 and some problems he was having with it, so I told him i'd fix it for him. Its the Japanese model, if there's any difference. So far, this is what's wrong:
- Randomly starts to feedback like crazy.
- Randomly turns itself off.
- Randomly doesn't work at all, and when you jiggle the guitar cable it works.

So I'm replacing the jacks, and I figured I'd make it TB since it looks like I should change the switch. So how would I make it TB? I can't even manage to get the original switch out...
Any ideas as to what's causing the feedback and stuff?
I'm also gonna do a few simple mods, but its gonna be a new thing for me working on such a cramped board.

Tell him to buy a BYOC Screamer and charge him 10 bucks to build it?

i'd get a PCB of the Screamer, then buy components somewhere else, save $30 on the kit itself, and then charge $85 from him. he doesn't have to pay shipping. u get $35 profit.

He doesn't want to spend all that money. He just wants it fixed for a couple bucks.

^sure is.

did u look inside the pedal? im sure u'll find something...

and for the jack that he has to wiggle, it's not making the right contact. push in the lugs so it makes it harder for the jack to go in.

^That's the thing, I looked inside and there aren't any loose wires, and all the solder joints looks fine. Is there such a thing as the jacks just going bad?
