FbSa if you put this mini-guide on recording in your first post it will most likely help some people out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So if you want to record, but dont have large amounts of money, I have a solution that will probably cost less than $10.
1. Get an adapter from 1/4 to 1/8. These are probably about 5 bucks.
2. Get a cable that has a 1/8 on both sides.
3. Download Audacity. I'm not sure about the linking policy so just google it. Its a free recording program and it gets the job done.
2 WAYS TO DO IT FROM HERE
If your bass has an active pre-amp (perhaps will work for passive) put the adapter in your input jack and connect it to the 1/8 wire. Put the other end of the 1/8 in the microphone input in your computer. The area has a picture of a microhone. Change the input in Audacity to microphone and you're good to go.
Other way:
You need a headphone jack on your amp. Plug your bass in normally and take the 1/8 wire from the headphone jack to your computer. Follow the above directions from here.
No, now you wait for the next thread to come up, but you'll want to start sketching ideas for a 1:30-3:00 song in one of your genres. The complete rules will be added after sign ups are over. I'ma going to post a bio of what bass wars is in the top since we have so many new users on here.
Orlando, I'll wait until the next go round. I'd love to do something, but I have a few other things on my plate at present.
For example of these days *cough, cough* I will get the Yesterday tracks from Jazz_rock and get my commitment to Bass Collaboration thread done..
#24
are drum tracks, and / or dubbing allowed? like setting up an actual bass line below and soloing over it ala what Jaco did with the hold delays?
O.k rules are something of this genre,
1) The song has to be 1:30-3:00
2) Two tracks of instruments or 3 tracks including a drumtrack. You can't do three tracks of three different instruments, but you can do two tracks with drum and bass.
3) Must be in on time and other rules related to that insue....
