Exactly what the title says - I'm really looking to start doing some Jazz stuff, but don't really know where to start, so I would jst like to incorporate some of your suggestions into teh songs. Thanks a lot!

^ Sort of related to that, when I have two bars of a ma7 (let's say C) in an uptempo swing thing I sometimes like to go C Cma7 C6 Cma7, only altering one note at a time.

then just mess around with scales that fit over those, ie, ionian, lydian, phrygian dominant, etc
