I have both their albums. It's good pop punk type stuff. But definitely not metal.

I really dont like any female vox bands apart from Arch Enemy. Its probably similar to my dislike for Opera Metal too.

How is this female?

Did you realize that Circle the Sky is the song name? The band is My Children, My Bride
I’m not the man I used to be, I... I can’t go back to Arkham.

I... I should return to Arkham.

Among the churchyard’s mouldering stones I recognise a name – my own.
I have come home to Arkham.

This thread lacks some serious Theatre of Tragedy. One of the first and main bands to start the beauty and the beast style vocals. Liv Kristine is a wonderful vocalist. (Don't bother after the first three albums though, they changed styles.) Here's a list:

Theatre of Tragedy
The Sins of Thy Beloved
Leaves Eyes
Angtoria
Nightwish
Epica

Those are some good starting points.

Are there any females who do aggresive non-growl vocals (ala Pantera, Slayer or Machine Head)? I've heard goth/opera and growled vocals, but not much else.

Dark Tranquillity's songs with female vocals own, especially Insanity's Crescendo.

Nergal is my favourite female vocalist. Oh, and Karl Sanders.

And let's not forget Peter tagtren, she's great in Hypocrisy.

quite a few metal bands have female signers that... sing

Some of the only ones that I can think of that haven't been listed so far are Arkona, Elis, Mandragora Scream, Silentium, and The Iron Maiden's ( Iron Maiden cover band ).
