I got to stay in the college dorms the first year and now my friends and I are renting a house off-campus. Dorm life is simple, as everything is provided for you, but now I'll have to provide everything myself. So apartment/house renters of UG, help me out on what I'll need for the house.

I'm going to go to Ikea and buy myself a bed-frame and mattress, along with a desk, a computer chair, a leany-back chair with an ottoman, and a lamp, and my roommates and I plan on going there again to get silverware/cups/plates and all that.

So, any ideas of what else I need to get for the house, and any tips on maintenance/general living are much appreciated.

Thanks.

well you definately need a refrigerator and a microwave. And you'll need sheets and blankets and towels and stuff. A vacuum would be good too so you can keep **** clean for the ladies.

No house is complete without a bong.

Yep, and a beer cooler.

Also learn to do your laundry before you run out of cloths.... or else you might up till 2 in the morning do your laundry like me.

Just hope there is a Wal-Mart or something near by.... you'll figure these things out eventually.

I always do my laundry when I run out of clothes and stay up till 2 a.m. waiting for it to finish. One of our roommates' parents are giving us a fridge, a dining table, couches, and a 42" plasma T.V, and a stereo system to go with it. We're gonna be so pampered with that stuff...

Honestly? I don't know. All the appliances were here when I got here, except for the five computers in the house.. And I'm pretty sure we steal our internet.

Um... Food?

I love you =] I can't say I was very fond of you when we first started talking because you trolled the hell out of my threads, but after talking to you here I've grown very attached to you.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

Make sure you're not the only one doing husework and ****.

Housework is for n00bs! We have a maid now, she starts on Weds, I think..

Oh, get Frank Zappa posters.. Put the one of him on the toilet on the door of the bathroom. That's what I did.

THEN get a webcam.. Set that up in the bathroom. Which is what we're GOING to do. And tons of porn, decorate your bathroom with it.

If I do that, I can't take a sh*t in peace because I'll have a boner whenever I'm in there:

just imagine yourself living in that house.. go through that virtual world, visualize what a day would be like. then you would be able to know what things you need.
Thoughts, like smoke, twine in your brain..
