can i put el34s in my el84 amp

Well you could but then you would have to:
Change the tube sockets.
Change transformers to handle the new wattage.

But the problems are:
EL34s might not fit.
Those mods are very hard to do.
Most EL84 amps are made to match wil EL34s
If it's a small speaker it might not take the wattage.

Bottom line, don't do it.

can't u get the "yellow jackets" to match the tube sockets? if size is a concern...

dunno bout the bias and stuff.

Those are for EL34 too EL84s.

This would be the other way around.

Also you'd need to adjust the plate voltage and change out loads of components.

Basically it might be doable but it isn't worth it.
