Hey there!

I am a proud owner of an Ibanez RG370DX and I love it to pieces, but one thing which really bugs me is how the tremolo arm/whammy bar can fall out so easy when you are standing up. I have a battle of the bands soon and I really can't afford for it to fall out when I'm playing (it happens all the time when I'm practicing standing up)

I asked my local guitar store if super glue would work but they said that would probably come back to haunt me... any ideas guys?

Any help greatly appreciated !!

It's not one that screws in or anything it just slots in, but if it's tilted slightly it can fall out very easily.

It happens to mine to. I believe I've ****ed up something inside the hole. It doesn't fall out quite as easily as you describe, but it does happen.

plumbers tape. wrap the inserted end once. make it snug. try another wrap if you need it.

Plumbers tape? Ok cool thanks, will that be strong enough? Is it really a bad idea to use superglue?

What if you want to remove the bar later? Oops, you cant, its superglued.

I agree, plumbers tape should do the trick.

I disagree with everyone and everything, especially gluing that part...big NO.

You can just dive down the bridge and access the arm torque screw as shown in number (1)

Nice pic there. So what your saying is If I unscrew the back plate I can access that little bit in the picture to tighten or loosen the slot that the arm fits into?

you dont have to open anything up, ignore pic #2.

You just dive down your bar and tighten the number (1) screw. Thats all.

Ok i'll try that out. I did it to check for the little hole and I found it and one or two of my strings went majorly out of tune :O does that indicate a problem? I did push the bar all the way down though.

ok look what you need to do is:
1: get a new bar.
2: take a better pic of the bridge itself
3: open it up when i give the go ahead

are you sure thats the right wammy bar? because mine looks different

Why do I need a new bar?

Does the pic have to be of the bridge normally or raised by pushing down the bar.

Open what up? lol

both normal and raised

the back maybe
i will contact you when i get home just get those pictures on here for me to see

What the hell's so complicated about this....

You dont need a new bar, you dont need anything. Just an allen wrench small enough to tighten the small screw, that's all. You dont have to open the back at all...

Jeeez....

Thanks

I do see a small hole so I am assuming that is it.

What exactly will tightening this hole do?

Why do you need a whammy bar anyway? Just leave that thing out.

Tightening the allen screw...its not a hole.

Tightening it would mean the screw will go inside more, thus snugging the armbar more.
