Got about 300 quid to get an amp, not online.

Want it to be good value for money

To use at gigs and also practice and recordings.

What would you's suggest?

i just got an ace Marshall valvestate 2000... 100 watt (

it has 2 overdrives and a clean setting... and a load of effects (16) ... most are of the echoy kinda tho =/
it has a nice heavy metal sound to it if you crank up the gain

its around £260 - £350 in shops i think probably under the 300 tho
and... it gets friggin loud! :P (at full volume my lead can't get me far enough away from the amp to stop the feedback... should be loud enough for gigs right?)
it sounds ace to my ears at least

it's around 2 feet off the ground and 2 and a half feet across... not that size matters... just thought you might like to know

if you want a pic of it theres one in my profile here

http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/%7EFunky+monk%7E/pictures/gear/76207/

just hope the link works ok

mine is 2nd hand and works and looks great still so it's study enough

also you can get a pretty nice 100 watt Vox amp new for like £300 too which might be an option i guess... i'm not completely sure on the price tho
