Jeez, it's been ****ty weather all year.
For britain its been a hot spring, and then flooding in the summer.
Heatwave in Europe

It's just bizarre. I always wonder whether its because of global warming or if its just the natural ageing of the earth...

That sucks. Looks pretty bad too. "Natural aging of the Earth"? Considering the Earth's climate ebbs and flows VERY slowly, over the span of milennia, and the overall climate has changed EXTREMELY quickly over the last few decades... doesn't sound right to me.
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me: no, nor woman neither... nor women neither.

heh, i'm just bad at wording things >< I dunno, I saw some graph in science once about C02 levels over the many billions of years, its constantly going up and down... but then again, I don't really know much about global warming or that. I just don't know what to believe.
It's not something I'm passionate about but I recycle and stuff cos I live pretty close to landfills and I'm careful about water cos south east essex gets the least amount of rain in the UK. Infact according to local newspapers, my area in particular gets less rain than Bahrain and Instanbul.

Hmmm

scientists say its a natural thing
others says its man-made
the council say 'do your bit to recyle and use public transport, otherwise we'll fine you for not recyling and as a treat we'll put up the bus fares to nearly £3 for a half hour (sometimes less) journey whilst reducing the number of bus serivces in your area.'

I'm sure humans are to blame for Global Warming, the hole in the atmosphere didn't come alone.

But what was the cause of it repairing itself

Yeah, just north of where I live it is technically classified as desert in a few places.

I guess there's going to be more floods in England. Where I live doesn't get flooded, so I'm very lucky.

Just have to grin and bear it.

It's still not repairing, it is predicted to repair in the next 60 years.
Scientists say that the levels of Chlorofluorocarbons (sp?) are lowering in the atmosphere.

Basically Global warming is predicted to really damage the world within the next 50 years, so there isn't enough time for the hole to repair.

We're all ****ed.

CFCs are decreasing because they're rarely used these days.

Shouldn't the hole in the ozone layer just increase the amount of radiation entering the atmosphere from the sun (and outer space)? It's greenhouse gases such as Methane and carbon dioxide that are absorbing heat radiation and acting as an insulator casuing the earth to heat up.
At least thats what we're told.

Infact, from what I've read in a library book I borrowed for a science presentation, methane is the most dangerous gas as far as the greenhouse effect is concerned, and is mainly produced by cows.

And the domestication of cattle has led to a huge increase in the number of cows over the past few centuries because we effectively removed them from the natural food chain and their population is far above what it would be if they were wild. As the population of the world increases, we need more and more cattle and such to feed the population. You can't use "It's the cows fault!" as an excuse.

Gah, I don't why you people swallow all these global warming theories, they're coming from the people who cant predict tomorrows weather acurately, how will they know what the weather will be like 50 years from now? Bahhhhhhhhh!

It's not predicting the weather, it's logic, there is a hole in the atmosphere causing heat to be trapped in earth, it's already starting to happen.

They are assuming that the world will continue heating at this rate (from the 80s to now) and that serious **** will happen in 50 years if this rate continues to grow.

You can.

Infact, it makes a lot of sense.

But it's a pathetic excuse, the world still needs to be fed. AndI suppose you could say it's the reason why there's pressure to reduce cardon dioxide emissions.

Actually, it's the increasing amount of greenhouse gases which contribute to the greenhouse effect in which less heat radiation is allowed to escape into space.
