In the spirit of the most underrated guitarist thread, in this thread we post underrated solos.

In my opinion, These Things by Fuel. The solo there can be compared to Gilmour's work. Very nice emotional solo with a very well placed outro solo.

Anything by John 'MF' Frusciante. Love his solos, full of feel.

Californication... almost everybody around here prolly hates it but I think it's great.. very recognisable, melodic and so very very very much Frusciante

talking about Californication.. the improv before it on Live @ Slane Castle is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard..

Dont fear the reaper blue oyster cult... I dont know... Maybe its not completely underrated, but I have friends that say they have never been that far into the song.

The solo in Avenged Sevenfold's "Bat Country" - be a superficial elitist all you want, that solo kicks ass.

If you listen to Marty Friedman's solo effort "Music for Speeding", there's a breakdown solo about 2:57 min in the song titled "Cheer Girl Rampage" that sounds beautiful. It just feels like a breakdown, like it would only fit in one place and you could never create a better riff for that particular place... Maybe I just drank too much Snapple...

Oh yeah, have to give a special mention to John Frusciante's outro solo in "Don't Forget Me" on the Live at Slane DVD. It just makes me feel, wow...

*gay moment*

Advanced Corpse Tumor - Necrophagist.

Being a death metal band, people would think the solos are a mash of random notes. In Necrophagist's case, all the solos are neo-classical style based mostly around Yngwie Malmsteen's technique.
