Do flat black finishes show scratches as bad as regular finishes do?

No, but it depends on how flat the finish it, it is has a bit of glass then they will show up as good as ever. But normally it isn't as apparent with matte finishes.

Not necessarily fingerprints but oil in general.

The ability to slide on a satin finished guitar in comparison to a painted guitar makes it worth buying despite the smudges, IMO.

on a matte finish, fingerprints don't show up as much, but scratches show up on any guitar.
