I would say the Peavey XXX Super 40. It's a 40 watt tube combo for $850

if you wanted you could try the peavey jsx
its within your range, and its satriani's signature amp
so you cant go wrong with that if you're looking for a prog amp

i agree, but since the XXX is cheaper, you could buy some good effects with the saved money

Fender Blues Junior - Eminence Red, White and Blues
Effects:
Fulltone OCD
Electro-Harmonix Nano Small Stone
Ibanez DE-7 Delay/Echo
Dunlop Crybaby
Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi

Doesn't Coheed use JCMs? IT's all about what you're looking for out of the amp. Are you looking for a lot of gain? Britishesque crunch? Gotta have the details brosky.

Used Boogie Rectoverb should be around $900-$1200. Claudio uses and triple recto so it won't sound exactly the same but you'll get very similar tones. It's a great amp for prog-rock because it's extremely versatile
Emo is to music as etch-a-sketch is to art.

Music can't really be judged, since it's all on the same level. Unless it's screamo. then it sucks.
