Is there a point to this thread?

Alexisonfire fall vaguely within the genres that have grown out of hardcore punk, if that answers your non-question.
No gods, no countries, no masters.
More guitar, less Ultimate-Guitar.

Their earlier stuff could be considered in his genre.

Everything after Watch Out probably not.

They're not talking about hardcore punk, they're talking about "hardcore." It has little in common with its roots in the '80s.

I wouldn't consider that to be so diverse. I think that most of the mature-minded people on UG have tastes that vary in a similar fashion.

StuartR has the most diverse taste on the hardcore board.

It would be really diverse if I was 14, but, the older you get the more stuff you'll be familiar with. I'm old, it shouldn't be surprising I listen to a broad selection.

Alexisonfire = love. First CD was the best. And somehow they progressed into this... progressive rock kind of band.
