Ok, I am a fairly seasoned player but I have a few problems(like all of us). When it comes to soloing I seem to forget entirely my knowledge of scales. I know my scales very well but when it comes to full on soloing I become confused and start throwing out random notes. How do I fix that?

practice. start soloing by just going up and down and up and down the scale. then start to slowly mix it up. like half up, then down some, then up to the top and stuff like that. after you're comfortable with that, start to make up your own licks

How long have you been playing?

11 years but 9 of those years I was forced to study classical. I liked it but metal is where my passion is.
