i need some inspireation for drumlines.
im a solo artist n im going to produce some proper music drums, bass, guitar and vocals. as im going this all on cubase ill have to do bass and drums through midi (i can make them sound realistic) and since im not a drumer i wanted some sugestions on making so good drum riffs. ill be recording a mixture of stuff from melodic rock, heavy rock. aswell as some slow acoustic songs.

FUN FACT: Judging by your spelling I'd say it was true what they say about drummers.
The will to neither strive nor cry,
The power to feel with others give.
Calm, calm me more; nor let me die
Before I have begun to live.

-Matthew Arnold

Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing.

Before you do anything on the program first listen to the guitar/vocal part you wrote and whatever drum part you hear in your head, put it down. Thats what I do for my solo project.

Portnoy > Peart

I've seen nor heard no evidence to the contrary.

Neither have I.

But doing the bass on cubase as well is poor really. The bass sound on there is horrible. Nothing like a bass. If you can't play bass or drums, just record all acoustic stuff until you find a band.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.

Well actually "Judging by your title, it seems like you'll do just fine", but same thing.

But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race toward an early grave.

FUN FACT: Judging by some of your recent posts, it seems someone is in a bit of a mood

But In all honesty, I was going to say "You could find some inspiration in a dictionary"

Now I'm a tool fan and the man plays some great beats in some weird time signatures, but I've still got to give it to Portnoy here.

Dude, Buddy Rich just beats all, you can't argue on that, so stop all of those stupid "fixing"

+1. Great technique, total lack of feeling, soul and/or originality.
