I'm thinking of buying a new amp, but I have no idea which to get.

My budget is around £300, and I play mainly rock and metal, but a little bit of blues.

I've thought about getting the Epiphone Valve Jr, but my only concern is whether it would be loud enough to gig with.

Any advice?

The Epi won't get past drums in a metal gig, even a small one (although in an intimate coffee house scene it might.) Great sounding amp if you want to mic it and use a pedal. Best for blues and classic rock. You will want at least a 30 watt combo. I would try to look used.

Palomino V32, Traynor YVC50BLUE used, YVC40, Peavey Classic 30 or 50.

Some of those may need an OD pedal depending on how heavy you'll get.
Feel free to call me Kyle.

Just so you know, I read everything you type in a Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs voice.
