Its a misconception that you need a halfstack for gigging. buy a combo. MUCH easier to get around.

IMO- Fender Hot Rod (blues) pedals (metal).

youll never have to go louder than 40W tube. trust me.

Why would he regret a half-stack? Same damn thing as a combo. Combos, however, are really heavy.

And, TS, we do need to know your price range.

Yet, they're heavier and have less bass presence and headroom.

Edit - IMO, Fender amps really aren't the way to go if you're looking to play much Metal. Great for Blues, though.

May I suggest an Epiphone Valvestate and a Weber Attenuator? You can crank the amp and boost it with an OD pedal or a TS to get just about as much gain as you should need.

^ that maybe true. but with my tele on the clean channell i can go very loud before major breakup. even at 8 its just at the point where i like for bluesy stuff. and with the neck pup its plenty bassy

EDIT: check out a JCM900 they are loud. plenty to gig with. good gain channel, moderate clean channel which is decnet for dirty blues

Eh, I used to be a combo kinda guy like you. But, now I've shifted towards half-stacks. It's really all in preference, I suppose.

^ well the only thing i like about combos is the fact they are soo heavy. i want a rocker 30 and a 2 12 tone tubby cab. which will be my next purchase after my car

out of curiousity, why do you want another 30 watt amp? I'd understand something like an epi valve jr. for practice, but what's the point in another 30 watt amp? Did you want another amp specifically for blues or something?
