Well, I've been homeschooled my whole life up till now and i started my freshman year in highschool two weeks ago. While being homeschooled I was lazy as hell, slept late, barely did any work, usualled did about 2 -3 hours of schoolwork a day if any.I was soo nervous going to highschool for the first time but by now i see how easy it is.In all my classes so far i havent got any grades lower then a B+ and most of the other kids in the classes seem to know a lot less then me.I'm seriously wondering if some people are just born dumb, because how could you possibly get held back a grade when you've been in school your whole like 6 - 7 hours a day, while I've been homeschooled barely doing **** but im getting mostly A's so far.Anyway is there any1 else that was ever homeschooled in their lives?? And don't think that all homeschoolers are gooody little smart kids that study hours and hours a day ect...

hs gets harder. i dunno if its just mine or everyone else's im a junior and they give me so much hw -_-

It's because the teaching methods in public schools are absolute shit.

They don't care if you understand or not. They only care about you passing tests.

Edit: I decided my girlfriend's (who is sitting next to me) opinion was relevant so I decided I should throw it in. She was homeschooled till high school too, and she says it's easy.

...Until you get lazy and stop doing anything.

Well, try having sex with numerous women at the same time (numerous as in 10.) then talk about what's easy and what's not. Alright?
IGHT DAWG!

those people who get low grades are usally the ones who dont care, fool around in class, dont pay attnetion, and dont do home work/study.

as long as you pay attention, take good notes and study alittle bit each night its cake. High school isnt hard, its just you have people who dont care.

School doesn't make you smart. So you can do a little bit of calculus, let's see that make your day to day life any easier.

School doesn't equal knowledge, only book smarts.

I have to disagree with that, my High School was fantastic and it was a public school. The teachers cared alot, and were always available when you needed help from them.

And HS might be easy, but life gets harder, trust me...high school is the EASIEST thing you will do

Im w/ the TS, not in the sense that I was homeschooled, just that Im so sick and tired of people like Nt1440. If you dont want to be in school, drop out.
I could go on a three hour tangent about this, but I wont, suffice to say that Im sick of lazy ass people copying my work because im the only "Gifted" Kid in the class who wants to try to do ****.

Not all highschool kids are stupid, try to get into your gifted and talented/alpha/whatever "kids who think different" program is.

My work is a bitch sometimes, im a junior though.

its not the school's fault that the government will pull their funding if a certain amount of students don't do well on a poorly worded, stupid ass standardized test. if it were truly left up to the schools, they would teach you what you needed to learn in actuality, not what the government wants you to learn. how many teachers are lawmakers? not a whole hell of a lot, if any.

well what classes are you taking? i've got like all honors classes. they aren't that hard, but they sure as hell aren't easy. and i do know that a lot of people don't try anymore, hence all the bad grades, and people not knowing ****.

my freshman year was rather easy too, but this yeah (i'm a soph), i'm getting ****loads of work.

on top of that, my sister was valedictorian and got a 35 on her act, so i've got a lot of expectations to live up to.

and yes, some people are just born dumb.

The valedictorian in my class had to ask me how to spell "chaos" one time.

Bottom line, she's fucking retarded and still has a 4.0.

i wasnt saying i hate skool man, i was saying i hate the endless repetitive of it, its get up at 6, skool, just sitting there, sitting there, sitting there, sitting there in lunch, sitting there, its to much of nothing for someone like me to handle, and i cant and will not drop out. i no that i have to graduate and work hard in college for me to live the type of life i want to. im "gifted" as well ( i was in an excellerated program) but still its annoying and repetitive, i would much rather be able to jump into a career but i no im not ready or capable for it yet.

still sick of me jackass?

I'm taking all college prep courses but im definately moving up to some honors next year.I really think its weird that the kid next to me in my algrebra class got a 80 on a test which i got a 96 on, yet I probably spent 1/3 as much time as him doing math throughout my life.

Knowing how to spell =/= smart

It means you know how to memorize stuff, big deal. And yes, I'm one of the best spellers I know, but I have a good friend who's smarter than me and can't spell for ****.

Uh of course it's easy, it's two weeks in you dip.

And if you're already pulling down from already given A's, you must be stupid.

Wait until the semester ends, you will be laying in your bed with soiled sheets because you can't comprehend doing actual work and being graded on it. Try an AP or IB course.

And to me it only gets progressively easier. But at the same time it also gets more boring with each year. I loved high school until this year. It's so 'meh'
#26
As some others mentioned, school doesn't get the least bit hard until junior year, and even now it's not that bad. You don't really have to be smart to get good grades - you just need to do your work and study a little. Laziness is my and many others' primary problem.

Eh, yeah, I'm a junior as well.. I haven't had that much homework this year (none at all so far this week), but the material is certainly difficult if you're taking university level courses to go in that route.

I don't know what you are talking about.

Is anyone here taking IB Math Studies, Trig/Stats, or Calculus? Or is it just me?
AP History? IB History 12?

IB English 12?

IB Business?

I feel like the only one with classes that actually teach substance here.

Well, i got "A"s and "b"s on all the review quiz and same on the first "real quiz".What I'm trying to say is after like 10 years of doing barely any schoolwork, never taking a test or quiz in my life, mostly teaching myself beacause my mom was teaching my 2 little sisters (also homeschooled).Pretty much what I did was woke up as late as I wanted, got my textbooks and read a little of each and write out some answers to the practice questions, and I was done within 2 - 3 hours. And then some days I wouldn't even do any schoolwork if I didn't feel like it.Well after all that I pretty much expected school to be hard for me but so far it's extremely easy...

Its because your teacher (tutor or parents?) know what you know and what you don't know. Highschool is ALOT of repetition. Its not really hard just tedious. They teach you things you know OVER and OVER again. Then they make you do pointless worksheets, that barely have anything to do with actually learning anything, they just assign it to kill times (i ****ing hate crosswords and such. there i said it )

Home schooled kids are generally better at "book smart" things because they

-aren't distracted with friends, sports, parties, etc

-no few or no friends

-got lots of practice just doing problems

-have a sense of urgency when it comes to homework

I know. I was homeschooled until fifth grade, and for a few years I was smarter than everyone because I was doing algebra as a fourth grader

High school is easy.
If you care enough to work hard.
Unfortunately, if you lack the motivation, it's hard to convince yourself to pass.
I don't know anyone that tries hard that gets lower than a B average.
#36
its cuz freshman year is easy as ****...i got a 4.067 gpa frosh year, now im down to a 3.8, not a big drop, but i did a lot more work junior year for that cuz i did **** frosh year and i worked hella hard junior year but it was a lot harder. and whoever said its cuz public schools are easy, that is also true. one of my bandmates got straight a's in public school then transfered to my school and he doesnt take the hardest classes and gets like a 3.5 gpa

That being?

Wait till you get to junior/senior year, and they start "preparing you for college", which means the all give you the shoulder and expect you to remember everything for yourself. At that point you begin to lose points for fogetting to turn things in, missing class, etc.
