I'm typing up an article for my school newspaper, and when i try to make minor adjustments in words, the thing i'm typing eats the letters that come after it! What do i do?

EDIT: I'm typing it in Microsoft Word, if that means anything.
Honestly. Wtf?

Press the "Insert" button on your keyboard. It probably got pressed inadvertently, and when that happens it activates the Overwrite function. To deactivate it, just press the button again.

Look near the bottom scrollbar, and there will be "OVR" in black print when it's activated.
