I'm gonna be doing one of my recording sessions i do from time to time to see how much I've progressed and i was wondering since i've got active pickups now is it still safe to just plug straight from my bass into the line in on my computer?

I do that from time to time (check my profile for a clip recorded DI, but processed through quite a lot of cab emulators), but the sound is a bit 'lifeless' and too round. If you have a DI pedal or something like that, it'll really help. Sure, you can feign it with an EQ, but it's overall easier to just do it with a DI.

I was looking at a used Warwick Vampyre LTD 5'er for about $200. I went home to grab my wallet and came back and some jerk with an epic beard got it already..

you suppose i could go through my multi-effects pedal(i have an effect set for making my sound deeper) and go from teh output on that? It's also labeled headphone on the output.
