You can afford many tubes for that price, especially if you are going to get a cab with it.

I haven't heard any good thigns about it...but I suggest looking for used tube combo's if you aren't stuck on the idea of a SS half stack.
Guitar:
Epiphone Les Paul Standard
Amplifier:
Fender Blues Junior - Eminence Red, White and Blues
Effects:
Fulltone OCD
Electro-Harmonix Nano Small Stone
Ibanez DE-7 Delay/Echo
Dunlop Crybaby
Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi

If you want an amp thats going to be loud enough to play gigs and can keep up with the best of them I would recommend the crate gfx 212, Loud with fx, 2 12 inch speakers, 120 watts. I used to own one of these and after my second child was born I had to sell it because it was too large and too loud for the house...and that was on volume level 2. Here is a link for one at a good price.

Hmm

at this point

I really dont want a combo amp

I'm looking at affordable stacks right noww

"affordable" and "stacks" are two words that just dont work together in the music gear world, sorry lol. Unless you look for used stuff that is. Try craigslist. Dont cheap out on your gear, youll wish you hadnt in the long run.

You just made amp recommendations so much easier! Will you be playing with a band? If yes, how big of shows?

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

Well since youre more into cleans, I would suggest something like:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/Peavey-Windsor-Tube-Amp-Head?full_sku=104003298

Its all tube, which is awesome. Plus its a good 100watts, so youll have plenty of clean headroom. And for the price, its good bang for the buck.

That amp has absolutely NO clean headroom, do not get it.

BTW, I think it is rated at so many watts ( just a hypothesis) because the amp was made for pure dirt, so they don't rate when the cleans break up like other amps.

I'm sorry, but there's no way you need a stack.

Get a good tube combo and thank us later.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.
