ok as most of you may relate to, my tastes in music are changing at an extremely rapid pace. last year i was dying to hear **** like atreyu/killswitch/trivium, all that metalcore stuff, but over the months i have developed a more "aggressive" sense for music. right now i like **** like black dahlia murder(pre-nocturnal), all shall perish, acacia strain, red chord...**** like that. anywho, im looking for more stuff to listen to and i often see me "forcign" myself to try to listen to some grindcore. if it is any help, could you prefer some good g-core bands that dont absolutely suck? i dont want any of that crazy nonstop high noted solo ****, but more of the "heavier" side to grindcore, almost red chord-esque, but not.

Death/grind is good. Origin, Cephalic Carnage, Dripping, and especially Lykathea Aflame. Look up "Land Where Sympathy Is Air." It's on their Myspace.

I don't know if this is exactly what you wanted but it's good grind-influenced stuff.

Edit: God, how could I forget Bolt Thrower. Kudos, guy below me. "Realm of Chaos" is a classic.
#6
You should try moving away from all the "core"and go straight into Death Metal if you want real aggressive brutality.
Grindcore is mostly just... noise ...but it has some bands that stand out.

Napalm Death
Early Carcass
Bolt Thrower
Repulsion
Terrorizer

JfaC are a lame metal band and have nothing to do with grindcore.

The the OP, if you want some deathcore (which seems to be what you're asking about) there's a rec thread.

If you want some grindcore I'd suggest Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Fuck... I'm Dead, Insect Warfare and Brujeria.

They're not talking about hardcore punk, they're talking about "hardcore." It has little in common with its roots in the '80s.

Why should he avoid The Locust? They will remain one of the best noise bands in history. Yea I know they are famous now but I don't care. I love The Locust and always will. You shouldn't be discouraged because all these little kids listen to them to be extreme.
#12
dude, i kinda like the Locust, ha, and the OLD SYNT, but that's just me. But none of the stuff that Mohawk posted is Grind, no offense Mow. But Guitarwannabe pretty much has it

Listen to SadistNation and guitarwannabe16. The only lists that actually have proper, good grind bands on.

I actually don't think the OP is looking for grindcore bands. It seems he was misleaded on what grindcore actually is. I think he is just looking for deathcore bands.
#15
You would probably only like nu-grind. Even thought Sadist and Guitarwannabe did post some solid ****ing bands.
#16
If you want a good grindcore band check out Nashgul. They are one of the best modern grindcore bands out there. They are like Terrorizer, Insect Warfare and Leng Tch'e.

I dont hate the locust cause of their fans, I hate them cause of their god damn irritating music. Hating a band for their fans is the worst reason ever.

Also hit up Ed Gein's "It's a Shame". That was pretty solid.

Cattle Decapitations earlier stuff has some grind qualities. Their new stuff is tight too, but it is Death Metal.
#20
Why would you tell him to avoid the band then? Not everyone likes the same stuff.

I hate the locust so much.
Seriously. They suck at life...and I'm not talking about the board game.
#25
Because there are so many better bands than the Locust to listen too, Cbf wasting my time on them.

Swarrrm is the most chaotic band on the planet.

By the way Dressing, do you have any Unholy Grave you could send?

Mind sending me some of their stuff, or a link to their myspace? Tried looking them up, got a garbage deathcore band.
