like i said in the other thread, waste of the ES 335. why do you want an invader pickup on it? it would kill the awesome hollow body sound and turn it into a nasty thin highoutput sound. it might feedback like a bizatch too.

and isn't it hard to switch pickups on a hollowbody?

imagine what it'll sound like in a hollow body.
Terrible.

hes name is ava so hes trying to get something like tom delonge
either keep the pickup and get an overdrive or something or get a gibson dirty fingers pickup, thats what tom uses now
#8
OH, you have the tom delogne sig. just because he used the invader doesn't mean you should. its a gimmick pickup, like the dimebucker. im sure the pickup in your gibson is already fine, if not, maybe go for a SH-11 custom custom.

^+1. but might be still too high output for a hollow body. possibly mass feedback?

NO
why the hell would you put invaders in a hollowbody? super high output, weird harmonics, already somewhat muddy, and super-sensitive. feedback city! forget it. get some dirty fingers, leave it stock, or go with something that's at least a bit lower output. the sh-11 infidel mentioned would work much better.
#13
I would prefer a dimebucker to an Invader. If you're going to make something crappy, go all out.

A Dimarzio Fred, Joe, or SD Jazz, 59, JB would be a better choice, but they're still pretty high output for what should be in a 335.

the SH-11 is used by the Queens of the stone age singer/guitarist, who i saw live last night, and he was using an epi dot. there was some feedback, but it was controlled. its good for brighter toned instruments like that.

the '59 is good too. just for clarification, the SH-11 is like a '59 with more balls. the '59 is a great pickup though.

because he didnt listen to any good advice anyone gave him last time.

put it in Ava. Blow your brains out with the uncontrollable feedback youre gonna get. see before i thought about buying a hollowbody, i TRIED it and even with the stock pickups it had ****loads of feedback. too bad you didnt.

enjoy.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Why the hell would you even think about ruining such a beautiful instrument with such god awful pickups?
#32
It's a really stupid idea - the Invader is a rubbish pickup anyway, but in a hollowbody it'll be beyond atrocious. Basically you'll have a guitar that looks stupid and sounds like sh1t. If you want to replace the pickups look at stuff like Duncan Pearly Gates or the Dimarzio Air Zone.

Alright, I know next to nothing about pickups, but even I can understand that putting a muddy-sounding pickup into a hollowbody would be A BAD THING.

It's a sad fact that the TS would actually retain more dignity by giving Tom Delonge a blow job on national TV than he would by putting an Invader in a Gibson ES-335.

it's so true....

we should get CorduroyEW to wind the hottest pickups he possibly can, advertise them as the best and laugh at the TS, because, well, it'll make me feel better about having to earn all of the money for my guitar mods. hell, i can't even afford a capacitor at the moment

As said the Invader will turn out horrible in a semi hollow.

That was one of the things I originally think is so STUPID wiht the TD sig. They use a fairly high output oickup in a semi hollow body.
