What's your goal in your lives ? What do you want to be when you grow up ?

Do you want it to be related to your hobbies or your love for the guitar or you just want to have a normal job, support yourself or your family but still have guitar as a hobby ?

I'm just curious cause I've heard weird stuff lately
I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.

good wife, a few kids, good job (im gonna be an engineer in a few years). basically settle down ad start a family.
i'd keep my hobbies as hobbies. i might get together with some friends and play guitar occasionally, maybe a gig or two, but i dunno

Doubt? Believe in yourself, if you want it, go for it. Don't let anything stop for you. If you want it bad enough, you'll get it, no doubt.

I just want a good job, good family, preferably to live wealthy but as I pointed out to somebody once, if I end up being 40, and living in some ****e flat with no cash and a job as a worker in a music store or something, aslong as I'm happy, I won't care where I live or how well off I am, to a point at least.

Although since then I've changed and think I wanna be a lawyer now, so hopefully I will be slightly better off than that

I've actually been doing a lot of thinking about this lately. I realized that since I don't believe in an afterlife, that makes happiness during physical life of the utmost importance. In other words, this is the only life I have, so if I'm not enjoying it, it's really not worth living at all.

Ideally, I would want to have a music-based career. Maybe I could be a sound engineer at a studio or venue. Maybe a career roadie. Maybe even a record producer, or a DIY venue owner.

But lately, I've been wasting my time at a dead-end job making minimum wage to wash dishes, and it made me realize what all those punk bands mean when they say we're "born to die." Our job in life is to grow up, work for other people, and then die. There is no room for fun, it's just a systematic stop-loss system, where the 18-year-old kids fill in for the 65-year-olds who can't work anymore (or work alongside the 80-year-olds who have no choice but to keep working) until we're cycled out and the next generation of expendable labor rolls in.

I don't want to do that. Our time on earth is a lot more valuable than that, and any job where you're not having fun is a waste of time. We spend a third of our lives working, a third sleeping, and the other third is your time to do as you please. With such a huge chunk of your time dedicated to your occupation, it ought to be something that doesn't make you miserable.
Aside from the "third of our lives sleeping" part (I wish!), I agree. I just recently had that revelation as well, though I'm not sure whether or not I'll actually factor it into my life decision regarding my career.

Provided I stop sounding like shit on guitar in the next year or so, I plan to make music my career, even if not in a band touring the world, then as a studio musician.

Otherwise, I'll be happy living as a tradesman, knowing that what I do actually has some use.

hobby wise im into photoshop, guitar and volleyball

To be happy. To see as much of the world as possible before I die. To have someone to share all that with. The rest is a bit insignificant really.

IMO, recording a hit ang becoming famous is just about impossible meaning music/recording will always be just a big hobbie for me.

My goal in life is to work fill time as a film editor for some large news channel.

Living in NC, I will have a custom house built with a nice recording studio...mostly for my use but I may take some bands in if they are looking to record a CD or something.

To become a psychologist, preferably clinical or working with criminals or something, something interesting. But I want to work in France, Germany or Japan with that career.
