Okay, I'm the kind of person who needs a schedule to get things done. Problem? I don't know how to get this done, I don't know WHAT to practice and learn. My goal is to be able to write neoclassical instrumentals.
I am basically starting from the beginning in terms of song writing.
So please keep things simple.
Thanks a lot.
Ricky.

Neoclassical rock?

For most rock, it's actually suprising how little theory you really need. Just a really
sound understanding of some fundamental stuff. And that would be: 1) The Major
Scale and 2) Harmonizing the Major Scale. That will get you a good chunk of the
way there for starters. You also don't really need to clutter and confuse yourself
a lot with modes. They're fine to know about, but the tendency to over-think with
them when you don't really need to, and most rock you don't really need to (much).
