If a rich man leads a sad life, then does a poor man lead a wonderful life?

#1
yeah.. what the title said.

its a rhetorical question. what i mean is i think that a rich man would have a much happier life than a poor man. but they always say "a rich man leads a sad life"

EDIT: Ive heard this a lot. im just saying that i think that they are wrong.

and discuss this or whatever.
sup?

This is the first time I've agreed with a "/thread" comment.

I earlier agreed with someone when they said that a certain thread was the worst thread ever....however asking a rhetorical question?

What? That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard today.

You're making an assumption for a whole group of people.

You saw all the bad threads that have popped up today and felt like people were invading your territory, didn't you?

I love you =] I can't say I was very fond of you when we first started talking because you trolled the hell out of my threads, but after talking to you here I've grown very attached to you.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

Acquiring money and moving from low to mid class has been proven to make people happier. However, moving from mid to upper class hasn't made people especially happier than they were before. Not sure it that links in with your theory there TS, but I don't care.

problem is people equate happiness with material goods (i.e. money, cars, fancy house, etc)... when in reality thats just artificial happiness, if you had all those things taken from you, you would no longer be happy...where someone who has nothing learns to be truley happy without anything, giving him a much more wonderful life.

People who say rich people live sad lives are just jealous. Rich people are obviously happy.

they arent going to be very happy if they lose all their possessions are they? their possessions are the root of their happiness...you take that away they have nothing

When I saw this thread the first thing I thought of were the Clash lyrics
"If it's true that a rich man leads a sad life
That's what they say, they say
Then what do all the poor do with their lives?
Have nothing to say on judgment day?"
Quote by J-Spoon
I did a forward roll into a backflip, caught the les paul and blasted out a face melting version of stairway to intimidate this mentally retarted kid on life support in a wheelchair that was trying to play it through an MG. What a loser.

You forgot the question mark.

Anti-pwn'd.

It wasn't a question, it would have had an exclamation mark but I chose smilies instead.

Anti-anti-pwn'd.

It was a rhetorical question, therefore requires a question mark.

Hence, we're back on topic...kinda.

money won't buy you happiness. but it sure helps alleviate some of the misery.
