Does it affect the condition of your gear at all if you smoke in the same room it's in? Especially the amps?

Well, I woudln't imagine so, but it woudl leave a film of carbon on the gear most likely, as well as pretty much permanently staining it with the stench of cigarette/cigar.

I could say that smokers are emo.
ITs been proven smoking gives you cancer.
..So why would you do it?
Do you just want to die?

I'm not too sure. People on craigslist always state (when selling amps) that they never used them in a smoking eviroment...

Smoking = damage to the amp?

Yep, I've seen quite a few instruments and cases victim to this. And if you smoke around your cases or gigbags, I can guarantee you will never get the smell out.
