Peavey Windsor head, with a nice 2x12!

I tested this head at my local store(so there weren't very many good guitars) with an RG350MX, and a Jackson DKMGT (older model with passive EMG's)

and the RG beat the Jackson for the lower-end chug (which is really expected since the Jackson is made of brighter woods), while both guitars had a similar lead tone.

I expect that with higher quality guitars, with higher quality electronics, the difference would be much more extreme, and the differences between the woods more apparent...
Alder being the tighter wood, and Basswood being the relatively looser one.

Yah... so hope that helps

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.
