Has someone compared this to a roland cube? I heard they designed the xl series to be higher gain than the normal 'tronixes but you can't overdrive the clean channel. Also the 30w valvetronix xl has a 12" speaker whereas the 30w cube has a 10" speaker, does that make much of a difference in sound quality?

A 12 inch speaker has more low-end punch and headroom than a 10-inch.
