I'm thinking about getting a Tubescreamer to boost my DSL 401's sound.

I've read a lot of good things regarding the TS9 and TS808.

Is there any actual difference in these pedals, or are they exactly the same?

Also, do most people have their Tubescreamer permanently turned on, or is it mainly just a boost for soloing?

Cheers.

I think the TS9 makes a little more gain then the TS808, and sounds just a little bit more "aggressive" (A little more pronounced mids). I use mine as a solo boost.

The big difference between the TS-9 and TS-808...mojo.

Between them, only two resistors are different. They both share the same circuits.

If you have any soldering skill its immensely easy to make a ts9 into a ts808

Cool.

How about the TS9DX, is that any different to either of them?
