So after waiting two weeks on layaway, I finally got the money and took home my new baby. This thing sounds so amazing, I'll try to get some sound clips up later. It is THE vintage wah.

i thoughjt the wah should have been in font of the Ibanez pedal. Not sure if thats an 808 or a Ts9 tho. but wahs normally go infront of the distortion/overdrive, right?
#5
All a matter of preferance.

post a better pic of the guts!!! or just draw out a schematic.

the board has a lot of components than just a regular wah. probably has an output buffer too. nice.

Not yet, It feels really good right now but I might tighten it just a tad bit so it doesn't fall when I leave it stationary

Sick man! Sound clips?

I always feel that I don't do my picture wah any justice. I don't know, it may be the wrong wah for me or maybe it's just me being silly. Very vintage voiced, though! Maybe that's why!

Generally, wahs sound better when they're first in the chain. This is because they work better with the un-affected signal.

Nice purchase TS, how does it sound?

I will attempt to get sound clips up soon. I can't figure out how to record with ninjam D:

actually, some wahs work better with a "buffer" in front of them that makes the wah sound better

EC what mods did you do to the wah, and was it just a standard crybaby?

^ i like both. you can do some pretty whacked out **** with filters. the discombob is a pretty nifty pedal too.
#34
envelope filters are good for rythym work, it's got great funky sounds that won't really become harsh. For lead work/solos/short passages, I really like the overall control of a wah pedal. I do love envelope filters though

Fair enough. Lead passages with an Envelope Filter changed my life :P. I play Jazz Fusion so the 'different' sound it offers is perfect. Down the line I'll prob put a Wah Wah along with the DB-1 on my board.

That's intense. Where did you get the specs to mod it to McCoy?

that's awesome. Did you overcome the limited sweep range of the crybaby, in addition to its less than inspiring sound
