I don't write songs, but when it comes to how prolific I am with writing music, it fluctuates. Often times I come to a point where I get stuck with writing a piece, and it might take some time to think of something else to continue it.

I've never wrote an entire song.

I TRY and write daily, but it rarely works out the way I want.

Hmm, i think when you start writing with any kind of time frequency, your doin something wrong. I play my guitar everyday, I'll try and write parts while Im jamming along to what ever I feel like jamming to that day, be it my stereo, my drum machine, the television or what have you, or sometimes just the orchestra in my own brain. But I can't say I come up with songs with any time frequency, I may pop one out, then another a week later, but it could be *as was the case with my last one, an entire month and a half* Until I write somethin new.

Well I write about 3 a week, yes that's full songs, i have over 500 lyrics on my computer because it's how I express what i'm feeling and I do it a lot, but i've only in the past year and a bit been putting music to them so i've got about 150 songs done, fully finished, but most are just chords and lyrics, nothing major, not recorded, some are though. I write a lot more than anyone else I know

Usualy I don't write anything a long time (days, weeks, months!), and then BAM, a cool little riff strikes me when i'm playing, and I sit 5-6 hours with GP and finish the song.

I've actually been feeling kinda tapped lately. Everything I play feels unoriginal and repeated. Any suggestions?

I just write a song when I need to let off steam, or if I'm going through something hard. I'll write out my feelings and let it develop from there. But I'd say maybe...one a fortnight.

Yeah, I get like that. I'll sometimes turn out something every weekend, maybe even every day for a week, but then I'll get these huge doldrums where I just sit in front of Logic for hours with my hand on a keyboard just trying to create something. I still dunno how to get out of that....

If I ever walk anywhere I'll come up with a few lines and some idea of what I'm trying to say. Then I'll show my band mate and I'll either write it myself or we'll both contribute.

This guy's got it down.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.
