Why do most people ignore the awesome stuff that is in our back yard?
They get a bit of play on Full Metal Racket on Triple J.

I'm less than 1:30 into Neither Shape Nor Shadow and I can already tell these guys own.

Vocalist sounds like the guy from Insomnium with a little more strength behind the vocals.

Be'lakor are fantastic. Great musicians, and great people.

You should bring them with you when you tour the US.

Ya, they're sweet. He does sound a bit like Insomnium's singer.

I don't think the vocalist is up to par with the rest of the band imho. I think they would be better off with a more articulate vocalist that also changes the vocals up once in a while. They just seem almost "cheesy" in a sense and boring for the type of music the band is playing especially. I really like the guitar work a lot, but I def think they could go farther with a better vocalist in the aspects I spoke of. My favorite song is the first one on their myspace.

and btw, Insomnium's vocalist is way better than this guy.
crit my drawings with comments in profile! thanks

Great vocalist.

Yeah, I agree. I love George's vocals. I think they suit Be'lakor's music really well.

^I actually think it helps, having something relatively constant in the music. Awesome stuff.

Good to hear about the signing

One of the few Melodic DM bands I actually enjoy listening to, good stuff (even if they are mildly guilty of some of the standard MDM rehash stuff, but only a tad)

May have to give the album another spin I think

I agree, they have some insanely generic riffs. They still kick ass though

for anyone who might know: have be'lakor even done a national tour yet? seems a bit weird to me that they're on their second album and i haven't actually heard anything about them venturing outside their home state.

definately. melboune is a bit far to travel to see a band, no matter how awesome they are

maybe now they have a label they'll be able to get a bit more of a backup for touring...although i know a lot of labels won't handle bookings and management, but they might be able to help out somehow.
either way it seems to me the best way to make money is to tour EVERYWHERE, and the best way to get money for touring internationally is to tour nationally. maybe they're happy where they're at though.

that better mean a full tour! we can only hope...

meanwhile, i was having a look for anything like interviews, reviews, etc, and found their forum:

http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/belakor-490/

has all your be'lakor needs covered. i'd assume anything tour-wise would be posted there (as well as myspace, of course)
