the Ibanez synth may appear cheap and ****ty but I've actually gotten good results from it. Also, for a thumping, non-distorted techno bass, I use a Boss OC-2 octave (the older one) and a compressor pedal before it. Turn up the Oct 2 knob and turn down the Oct 1, and play high up on the neck. It's phat and synthy as hell.
