My limit is 400$ but prefer it to be like 275-325$ I want to play in garages with friends and maybe at most small gigs but also small enough for room playing.

i would get the Ampeg BA220 220W 2x10 combo or 1x15. also another option is the Fender Bassman 250 250Watt in either 2x10 or 1x15. they bolth are about the same value wise so try the two out and see wich one you prefer.

for this kind of money, used is your best bet. the Ashdown Electric Blue 15-180 is in your range, new. the Bassman 200 or 250, used would be a good amp. the GK Brat Pak is in the range also.

There's tons of combos you can look into at that price range.

I'd say anything around 100 watt, 210 or 115 will be perfect for you.

Ibanez, Ampeg, Fender are some good companies to look into. But above all, I'd say you can't beat an Ampeg 115.
