Ok. I am looking for a new guitar to replace my crappy starter pack guitar. I will also be replacing the amp so that is out of the question. I would like your opinion on which one would be right for me. Which one has the most value, so I wouldn't have to buy a new one soon after this one. My price range is about $500. I currently have 3 in mind but I am open to other suggestions. BTW I play classic rock, and rock, some heavier rock. No Metal! (not that I'm against it or anything)

1. Schecter Tempest Custom: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-Tempest-Custom-Electric-Guitar?sku=515866

2. Epiphone Les Paul Standard: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Les-Paul-Standard-Electric-Guitar?sku=518341

3. Michael Kelly Patriot Custom: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Michael-Kelly-Patriot-Custom-Electric-Guitar?sku=512296

Thanks In Advance

You may have a 10 x 10 stack of marshalls and i may only have one, but mine goes to 11.... Beat that

I'd go for the schecter, as they seem to have outstanding quality and tone, especially for guitars in their price range. I've also played a michael kelly, and it was like a Jackson on steroids. Fantastic neck, phenomenal action. This was a $2500 dollar model, though, so I'd go for the schecter.

I'd suggest considering a Mexican-made Fat Strat. Of those three, though, I'd probably go with the Epi, because I haven't played the Michael Kelly and I prefer the Les Paul to the Schecter.

Orange Tiny Terror with a Mesa 2x12 Lone Star

Michael Kelley makes nice guitars, but i personally dont like the design. Schecter Tempests look good, but Duncan-design HB-102s are copys of JB's, which are heavy pickups. Not too great for Classic rock, but good for everything else.

Id buy an Epi Les Paul. A black or a Plain-top with a pickup change would make a great guitar. or a Plus-top and save a little for new pickups. I luv the Blue and the Honeyburst imo.
