Cheers for this, was just wondering how Pompey got on. Although it's a win, still pretty poor considering the relative positions.

I was at the Arsenal game the other night as a Newcastle fan in the Arsenal section (I was in Orange S section I think.). I grimaced a lot. Diarra was a class above everyone else on the pitch.

Then there was chaos after the game

It's the Carling Cup, Fergie's never cared about that.

Well to be honest, it's perfectly true.

2008-8 season - Sir Alex Ferguson and Uniteds main aim of the seaon - The Carling Cup.

Not the point thugh, the side they put out should have beaten Coventry. I think he'll be well disapointed that his younger players played so crap.

Another week, another round in the Carling Cup:

Sheffield Utd 0-3 Arsenal
Spurs 2-0 Blackpool
Liverpool 2-1 Cardiff
Chelsea 4-3 Leicester
Luton 0-1 Everton
Bolton 0-1 Man City
Portsmouth 1-2 Blackburn
Edit:
Conventry 1-2 West Ham

Denilson and Eduardo ftw.
Poor win for Chelski.

Okay I'm not that informed about West Ham... I only liked Tevez but I can't switch teams now can I?

Sooooooo, the Goons and the Spurs are through to the semi finals- both had a player sent off lol.

I was disappointed to see Denilson being sent off, rightly so- don't know what he was thinking with his stupid tackle.
Eduardo scored two lovely, cool, Arsenal-esque goals.
All our 'reserve' team is lacking is defence really- they played some sexy football.

Spurs have to beat Arsenal, it's one of those things which has to be done or it'll be another diappointing year. Couple a loss at Arsenal and Berbatov's imminent departure, there will be a morale dip at the Lane.
I hope it doesn't seem, like I'm young, foolish, and green.

It hasnt been a disappointing year already? After you spent big, said you were gonna overtake Arsenal, move into the top 4?
#25
Yes it's been disappointing. Bad start to the season after so much potential, and the new signings we had haven't impacted yet.
But we never said we were going to break the top 4, that was just Dan Levy (and I don't class him one of the Spurs team at all) and he expected too much. Spurs aren't going to make top 4 for at least 10 years, fact.
Although Ramos is doing a good job; he's turned the team around completely.
I hope it doesn't seem, like I'm young, foolish, and green.

Mwahaha Everton take on Chelsea. I can't wait.
Last time Everton (who I support) played at Stamford Bridge I think it was a draw so we will be up for it, even if we did lose this weekend...

It seems we have taken the place of spurs Just behind the top four, doing well in the UEFA.
Spurs were supposed to be challenging the top four this season, sadly even though they have some amazing players they are still in the bottom half, I would like to see them beat Arsenal.

Everyone would, no one likes Arsenal
And then we've got Chelsea away from home next week, that should be fun

Too much to expect football fans to be gracious in victory I guess...

I must say I'm happy about that result. IF we beat Everton tomorow I reckon we can beat Tottenham. It's the getting past Everton I'm worried about tbh.

Well they havn't beaten you in like 3 million years so they're allowed to get excited. I was like that when we beat Arsenal for the first time in ages a few years ago.
