I paid $150 AUD for my Maiden ticket.

Then I paid another $150 so my younger brother could come with me.

Ludicrous, yes, but in this case well worth it.

Mastering your instrument is being able to play whatever you hear in your head, unhindered by inadequate technique. After that, it's all about what you've got to say, so there would be no "best," just a bunch of people saying exactly what they mean.

Thats what i payed to see them in portland.

Seriously? Cry More. Its just 40 bucks.
#10
$40, American? Is that like $60 Australian?

Over here Motorhead is $110 and Iron Maiden is $150.

I would pay $200 to see Megadeth.

I fail to see what you're complaining about.

$40 isnt that bad.

i payed $90 for Ozzfest in 2006.

i payed $90 for Rock the Bells this year.

i just payed $50 for Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

$40 is a pretty standard price for a mainstream/pretty well known band.
#13
40$ is nothing
in here concert tickets start from 150$ up to 400$
A drumer is needed!!

You have to take into account that they are an overseas band. Just coming here on a plane without any gear would be costly enough.

I wanted to go to the Fox Theatre and see Explosions in the Sky and Smashing Pumpkins next month, but the tix are $55-$65.

Not including handling fees, tax, etc. Each ticket would come out to be around $80-$90.

I get to see BMTH for 13 dollars a ticket.
So I paid 30 for two.
I'm going next week.
Do some search.

All the bands I go to are about 10$ each. The most expensive was 15$. Children of Bodom was even 15 when I saw them.
#24
They probably make MegaDeth tickets so expensive to save many people the misfortune of being able to go to one of their concerts.

It's your own fault for listening to giant greedy corporate rock bands.

I've seen many shows for between $0 and $10

+1, I love knowing that I can experience the show of a lifetime for $7 but you guys have to pay a ****load of money to gaze at your idols through some binoculars and not even have the chance to sit down and have a chat with them.

Yep... A plus to liking bands on an indie label.

As if many CAME to west virginia, anyway. We do get some, its just not as good as other states, I'd say.

Working at ticketmaster, i do get the complaints over the service charges (granted, money is needed for upkeep, but its sometimes quite high).
#30
You're bitching about $40? that would be like like $55 AU over here and thats cheap as! im going to a rage concert and the tickets are $100! and i was like thats pretty good since i was expecting them to be like at least $150-200 AU..

......... everything is more expensive in Australia

ticket prices have just slowly gotten higher and higher just like everything else you can buy. another factor might be bands trying to make up some lost revenue due to illegal music downloading.

I'm about to pay 35 quid for my Alice Cooper/Motorhead/Joan Jett ticket.
These days that's about $70.

35 (my pound sign is broke) isn't that much over here.
#36
i paid $240 NZ to see sabbath with dio (2 tix about $170US)

i'd kill to have the chance to pay only 40 bucks for a 'big' band. most big bands that come here have tix well over 100 bucks, stones tickets were about 120 up, steely dan about the same.

im prety sure they were trying to sell rockstar:supernova tickets for -$10, but still nobody went.

edit: zeppelin tickets are about $365NZ i think, but first you have to be 'chosen'.
