Hey dudes,

Someone mentioned in another thread that you're supposed to change pots when you put in active pickups, and I just noticed as I was browsing a price list that the EMG 81s come with vol and tone pots. The reason I'm asking is that I replaced the EMG 81 in my LTD H-300 with a Dimarzio Breed and I didn't change the pots, I just removed the battery clip. It sounds great, but am I losing out on tone for using the wrong sort of pot/cap? What's the deal? I also removed the pickup selector and the EMG 85 cos I only ever use the bridge pickup haha..

Thanks!

Actives need 25k pots.
Passives need 250k, 500k, or 1meg pots.

Chances are, you had 500k pots, since you had humbuckers already. Switch those out for 25k, and they'll suit your actives a bit better.

...he got rid of his actives...meaning you will prolly need a 500k pot to replace your 25k pot(s)
