Have you ever heard a song and thought to yourself, "Man, this would sound amazing if [so-and-so] covered it."

I have. For example.

If Ima Robot covered "Eleanor" by the Turtles.
If Ben Kweller covered "AT&T" by Pavement.
If the Strokes covered "Ziggy Stardust" by David Bowie.

Now you share yours.

David Gilmour covering Little Wing. I'm not sure what he'd make of the rhythm guitar, but the image I have in my mind is a Gilmour solo over those mellow, beautifully melodic Hendrix chord arpeggios...

“It’s not genius. It’s just that if you want something good to come out of something, you have to put in a lot of effort. That involves a lot of hard work, and a lot of blood, sweat and tears sometimes.”

Nice thread.

If Springsteen covered "Born On A Train" by Magnetic Fields.
If Radiohead covered "Disorder" by Joy Division.
If Arcade Fire covered "Lo Boob Oscillator" by Stereolab.
If the Strokes covered "Monkey Gone To Heaven" by Pixies.

That'll do for now.

Radiohead covering Hallelujah. Jeff Buckley did such a hauntingly pretty version of it, and Radiohead is wonderful at creating the same atmosphere..

Edguy covering Bon Jovi's "Living On A Prayer" (The happiest metal voice covering the happiest song)
The Answer covering a Led Zeppelin song (seeing as they're so obviously influenced by them)
