Alright, I'm swapping out my Alnico type V pups from my Agile AL-3100 (The bridge one at least) for a Dimarzio Super Distortion. My questions about this:

Do I have to solder the cover to the pickup? If so, how do I do this (Points of soldering), and is it easily reversable?
I read somewhere I have to fill the empty space with wax... What kind of wax do I use, and does anyone have a nice description of how to do this? Or a link of some sort?

Thanks in advance.

just buy one which is already covered. i'm sure dimarzio do a version already with a cover.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

The thing is, I have an Alnico V with a cover on it, and a super distortion uncovered. So I don't want to spend xxx money on a cosmetically different pickup. :P

ah i didn't realise you already had it.

i think there's a tutorial on how to wax pot them in the Gear Building and Customising Forum, though I haven't tried it myself.

There's a way do to it with a strip of silicone adhesive, much easier and cleaner than wax.

Google it, or look on project guitar or something.
